Idea
Ideas
1). Originally I wanted something Alice in wonderland themed as it would go with tea, because of the Mad Hatters Tea Party, but after looking into research and further development of my own idea I realised re-branding PG would more effective and still appeal to my target audience.
2). Family sitting around, not drinking tea. They hear a loud bang. Alice runs into the kitchen and the dog has made a mess and is covered with PG. They make tea, and watch the TV together.
3). Protagonist in bedroom, montage of her procrastinating. Eventually, the dog brings her PG and she gets back to doing her work
There's always time for tea with PG.
Take some more Tea, with PG
PG, Puppy's favourite Tea
Sit down with PG
After collecting research I ended up changing my narrative and veering towards a student targeted video. Eventually, I picked my 3rd option because I thought it would be effective to show through visual rather than dialogue.
Treatment
Genre – Advert for PG Tips
Target Audience – 18 – 25 Gender isn't specific, British, students living at home/family/younger audience.
Outline – The protagonist, Kayleigh, is procrastinating in her bedroom instead of doing work, she distracts herself and tries to think of ideas for her coursework, her dog keeps whining and going in and out of the room. She dresses the dog in antlers and does a number of different activities such as throwing a ball, playing guitar, cuddling the dog. Eventually, the dog finally gets her attention by bring her a box of PG.
Dog is cute and re-brands PG/replaces Monkey
Tea is a stress reliever, you can have it anytime you want no matter what your doing.
Helps you de-stress and do your work.
Character Profile:
Kayleigh, 18, White, British, Student
Gizmo, dog
Mise en scene
The mise en scene will be a average looking bedroom, mostly just shots of the protagonist on her bed and sitting at her desk.
Props include, a laptop, ball, speaker, antlers, decorations, a PG Tips box, a teddy bear, a guitar, and a phone
Colour palette will be natural, but will be edited in post.
Editing
I will cut and edit the clips together, so each is only a few seconds long, creating a montage.
Sound
Non diegetic sound is to be determined once I have filmed and I'm ready in post.
As there isn't much dialogue, the majority of the soundtrack will be the score/music, however there will be diegetic sound for for the protagonist gets up to during the scenes, for example singing along to music which is played through a speaker.
Cinematography
Springboard camera, stand and lighting.
I'll mostly be using wide static shots to capture the whole mise en scene, and activities the characters does.
Lighting could potentially be a problem because of the darker weather, and I'm filming in the evening. If it becomes a problem I can re-shoot, if I don't have time or it doesn't make much difference then will fix the issues in post using premiere pro.
I will edit colour and lighting as much as I can in post production using Premiere Pro

Script
Mike: Can you just pick a film already?
Jo: Give me a second to actually look through them, Mike.
Mike: Well hurry up, I'm getting bored.
Alice: Oh my god, can you just be quiet?!
Phoebe: Urgh
Mike: Don't blame me Alice, your mum won't pick a film.
Alice: What was that?
Phoebe: Where's puppy?
Alice: Good boy.
Jo: Okay, I've picked one.
Kayleigh(VO): There's always time for Tea with PG/PG, Puppy's favourite tea.
Since I decided I didn't want dialogue or at least scripted dialogue I'm no longer using this script and my idea changed.
Shows that sometimes you just need to take a break and relax.
Should've made it Christmassy and dressed Mogs up as the Grinch who steals all the tea bags.

Primary and Secondary Research – Researched Tea branded digital video adverts and print adverts, and compared them to each other whilst doing research on the company's and their other previous adverts. I then conducted my own primary research by creating a questionnaire tailored to tea. With the information I acquired I used to further establish my advert idea and get an idea of what target audience to use and what they would like to see within the advert. I stuck with PG tips as they were the most popular according to my collected data. The data I collected I put into an audience profile which you can find on my research page.
